What to check on a BMW E30

These are the known weak points of the E30. Every seller here answers them one by one before their car can go live — so you can compare two cars on the same terms.

  • Rear shock towers, inside the boot under the carpet
  • Jacking points and the seam behind the front wheels
  • Battery tray and the panel beneath it
  • Front strut tower tops
  • Timing belt history on M40 four-cylinder cars
  • Cooling system: radiator neck, water pump, expansion tank
  • Differential mount and rear subframe bushes
  • Sunroof drains and the headliner below them

Is it genuine? What buyers check on an E30A real M3 has a unique bodyshell, not a bodykit. The rear window is more steeply raked, the boot lid is taller and the rear arches are box-flared into the panel, not bolted on. The VIN should start WBSAK and the S14 engine number should match the paperwork.

Buying a BMW 325i Touring

The E30 was built between 1982 and 1994, which is why it belongs here: 80s90s.Club lists a car when its generation was in production at any point between 1980 and 1999. A 1982 car and a 1994 car are both welcome; what decides is the generation, never the year on its own.

Every E30 listed here carries the same checklist, answered by the seller line by line, and a Logbook tied to the car's chassis number rather than to whoever happens to own it. Contact the seller directly — we never hold your money and never take a cut.
