Privacy

Last updated: 19 September 2026

At 80s90s.club, we believe privacy should be understandable.

We collect the information we need to operate a specialist marketplace for cars from the 1980s and 1990s, keep member accounts working, help buyers find cars and protect the marketplace from misuse.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who can see it and the choices you have.

It applies when you visit 80s90s.club, create an account, list a vehicle, contact another member or otherwise use our services.

  1. The Short Version

Here are the most important points.

Information Why we need it Who can see it?
Email address To create your account, let you sign in and send important account messages Not shown publicly

City / vehicle location So buyers can find cars in relevant locations Shown on the vehicle listing

Phone number So buyers can contact a seller, if the seller chooses this option Only displayed according to the seller's chosen visibility setting

Vehicle listing information To advertise the vehicle Public

Messages and enquiries To allow buyers and sellers to communicate and help prevent abuse The people involved and, where necessary, authorised 80s90s.club personnel

Technical information To operate and secure the site 80s90s.club and relevant service providers

We do not sell your personal information.

And because 80s90s.club does not handle vehicle transactions, we do not collect or hold the money used to purchase a vehicle.

  1. Who Is Responsible for Your Information?

The organisation responsible for processing personal information through 80s90s.club is:

80s 90s Cars Club

Privacy enquiries:

info@80s90s.club

This organisation is referred to in this Privacy Policy as “80s90s.club”, “we”, “us” or “our”.

Where applicable, we act as the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

  1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use 80s90s.club.

Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

your email address;
your name or display name;
account login and authentication information;
account settings;
preferred language or country;
and information connected with the type of account you use.

We use this information to create and maintain your account, allow you to sign in and communicate with you about the service.

Your email address is private

Your account email address is not displayed publicly on your vehicle listing simply because you created an account.

Other users should not be able to see your private account email unless you separately choose to publish it yourself.

We recommend that members do not place private email addresses directly inside public listing descriptions.

  1. Your City and Vehicle Location

Location matters on a vehicle marketplace.

When you list a vehicle, we may ask for the city, region or country where the vehicle is located.

We use this information so that:

buyers know approximately where the vehicle is;
vehicles can appear in location searches;
buyers can filter cars by country, region or city;
and search results are more relevant.
What other people see

The city or general location connected to a vehicle listing may be displayed publicly.

For example:

Munich, Germany

or:

Manchester, United Kingdom

We do not need to publish your precise home address simply to show buyers where a car is located.

If we collect a more precise address for a particular service or legal requirement, we will explain why it is required and how it is used.

  1. Your Phone Number

Providing a phone number may be optional depending on the service or type of listing.

A seller may choose to make a phone number available so interested buyers can contact them directly.

If you choose to display your phone number

If you enable a setting that displays your phone number on your listing, people who are permitted to view that contact information may be able to:

see the number;
copy it;
call it;
or use it to contact you outside 80s90s.club.

Before making a phone number visible, we aim to make it clear that it will be shared with other people.

If you do not display your phone number

A phone number kept private in your account will not be publicly displayed merely because we have it.

It may still be accessed where reasonably necessary by authorised 80s90s.club personnel and service providers for purposes such as:

account support;
security;
verification;
fraud prevention;
or compliance with legal obligations.

We do not sell members' phone numbers to advertisers or data brokers.

  1. Vehicle Listings

When you advertise a vehicle, we process the information you choose to include in your listing.

This may include:

make;
model;
chassis or generation;
year;
mileage;
price;
vehicle location;
photographs;
videos;
VIN or chassis information where provided;
registration information where provided;
specification;
ownership or service history;
modifications;
seller description;
and seller contact information you choose to make available.

The purpose of a listing is to advertise a vehicle, so most listing information is public information.

A person may be able to view a public listing without being signed in.

Sellers should therefore avoid including personal information in photographs or descriptions that they do not want publicly available.

  1. Messages and Enquiries

If 80s90s.club provides messaging, enquiry or contact tools, we may process information including:

sender and recipient;
date and time;
listing involved;
message content;
and information necessary to deliver or secure the communication.

We use this information to provide communication features and, where necessary, to:

investigate reported abuse;
detect spam;
prevent fraud;
protect users;
enforce our Terms;
and comply with law.

Private communications are not made public simply because they are sent through 80s90s.club.

  1. Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the site, certain technical information may be collected automatically.

This can include:

IP address;
browser type;
device type;
operating system;
approximate location derived from technical information;
pages viewed;
dates and times of visits;
referring pages;
interactions with the site;
cookie or similar identifiers;
security events;
and server logs.

We use this information to:

operate the website;
maintain security;
diagnose technical problems;
prevent fraud and abuse;
understand how the marketplace is being used;
and improve the service.

We do not use technical information to determine the precise physical location of a member unless a particular feature requires it and appropriate notice is provided.

  1. Cookies and Similar Technologies

80s90s.club may use cookies and similar technologies.

Some cookies are necessary for things such as:

signing in;
keeping an account secure;
remembering essential preferences;
and operating the website.

We may also use analytics or similar technologies to understand how the site performs.

Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will request that consent before using them.

Members can also manage available cookie choices through the controls provided on the site.

If we publish a separate Cookie Policy, it will provide additional details about the technologies we use.

  1. Why We Are Allowed to Use Your Information

Where European data-protection law applies, we need a lawful basis for processing personal information.

Depending on the situation, we may process information on the following grounds.

Providing the Service

We process information where it is necessary to provide a service you have requested or to perform our agreement with you.

For example:

creating your account;
allowing you to sign in;
publishing your vehicle listing;
processing enquiries;
and providing marketplace features.
Our Legitimate Interests

We may process information where necessary for legitimate business interests that do not override your rights.

These may include:

protecting 80s90s.club against fraud;
securing accounts;
preventing spam;
investigating abuse;
maintaining the marketplace;
improving performance;
and protecting our legal rights.
Legal Obligations

We may process or retain information when required to comply with applicable law, regulations, court orders or lawful requests from authorities.

Your Consent

Where consent is the appropriate legal basis, we will ask for it.

Examples may include:

certain non-essential cookies;
certain marketing communications;
or optional publication of particular contact information.

Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent.

  1. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell personal information.

We may share information only where reasonably necessary to operate 80s90s.club or where required by law.

Other Users and Visitors

Information intentionally included in a public vehicle listing can be seen by people visiting 80s90s.club.

This includes information such as:

vehicle details;
vehicle photographs;
asking price;
city or vehicle location;
seller name or profile information where displayed;
and contact information the seller chooses to make visible.
Service Providers

We may use trusted companies to help operate the platform.

These may include providers of:

website hosting;
cloud infrastructure;
email delivery;
account authentication;
security;
fraud prevention;
analytics;
customer support;
database services;
and technical infrastructure.

These providers may process personal information only as necessary to provide their services to us and subject to appropriate contractual and legal protections.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

comply with applicable law;
respond to a lawful court order;
respond to an appropriate request from law enforcement or another competent authority;
protect our legal rights;
protect users;
investigate suspected fraud;
or prevent serious misuse of the platform.

We do not provide personal information to authorities merely because someone informally asks for it.

Business Changes

If 80s90s.club is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring or sale of all or part of the business, relevant information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable data-protection law.

  1. Vehicle Payments Are Not Processed by Us

80s90s.club is an advertising marketplace.

The purchase of a vehicle happens directly between buyer and seller.

We do not:

receive the purchase price of a vehicle;
hold vehicle deposits;
act as escrow;
store money for buyers;
release vehicle payments to sellers;
or process the ownership transfer as part of the purchase.

Therefore, you should never provide payment information because somebody claims that 80s90s.club needs it to “release” money for a vehicle.

If you purchase a separate paid service directly from 80s90s.club in the future — such as an optional promotional or marketplace feature — payment information for that service may be processed by a payment provider.

That is separate from the payment used to buy a vehicle.

  1. How Long We Keep Information

We do not keep personal information for longer than reasonably necessary.

How long we retain particular information depends on:

why it was collected;
whether your account remains active;
whether a listing remains active;
whether the information is necessary for security or fraud prevention;
whether there is an unresolved dispute;
whether we need it to establish or defend legal claims;
and whether the law requires us to retain it.

For example, basic account information will normally be kept while an account remains active.

When information is no longer required, we will delete it, anonymise it or otherwise remove it from normal use, subject to reasonable backup and legal-retention requirements.

Some information may be retained in anonymised form for statistics, marketplace research and historical analysis where it can no longer reasonably identify an individual.

  1. Deleted and Sold Listings

Marking a car as sold or removing a listing does not necessarily mean that every piece of information connected to it disappears immediately from all systems.

We may retain limited information where reasonably necessary for:

account history;
security;
fraud prevention;
dispute resolution;
legal compliance;
marketplace integrity;
backups;
or anonymised market statistics.

Where we no longer need information that identifies an individual, we may anonymise it.

  1. International Data Transfers

80s90s.club may use service providers located in different countries.

This means personal information may sometimes be processed outside the country where a member lives, including outside the European Economic Area.

Where European data-protection law applies and personal information is transferred to a country that does not provide an equivalent recognised level of protection, we will use an appropriate legal mechanism where required.

This may include:

an adequacy decision;
approved contractual protections such as Standard Contractual Clauses;
or another legally recognised transfer mechanism.

  1. How We Protect Information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against:

unauthorised access;
accidental loss;
misuse;
alteration;
unauthorised disclosure;
and destruction.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Members also play an important role in protecting their accounts and should keep passwords and login credentials confidential.

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us as soon as possible.

  1. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights relating to your personal information.

Under the GDPR, these can include the right to:

access personal information we hold about you;
correct inaccurate information;
request deletion of information in certain circumstances;
restrict processing in certain circumstances;
object to certain processing;
receive or transfer certain information in a portable format;
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
and complain to a data-protection authority.

These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances and legal basis involved.

To make a privacy request, contact:

info@80s90s.club

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request so that somebody else cannot obtain or delete your information without permission.

  1. Closing Your Account

Members may request deletion of their account using the account controls available on the site or by contacting us.

Closing an account will normally stop it from being used as an active marketplace account.

We may retain limited information after account closure where necessary for:

legal obligations;
preventing fraud;
resolving disputes;
enforcing our Terms;
protecting users;
or establishing or defending legal claims.

Information that has been properly anonymised may also be retained because it no longer identifies you.

  1. Marketing

We may send essential communications necessary to operate your account, including:

security notices;
sign-in or verification messages;
important marketplace updates;
responses to support requests;
and important changes affecting the service.

These are different from promotional marketing.

Where required by law, promotional emails will only be sent where we have an appropriate legal basis to do so.

Marketing emails will include a way to unsubscribe.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending important service or security messages.

  1. Automated Decisions

Unless we specifically tell you otherwise in connection with a particular feature, 80s90s.club does not make decisions about members based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

We may use automated systems to help identify:

spam;
suspicious activity;
unusual account behaviour;
or potentially fraudulent listings.

Where appropriate, these systems support marketplace security rather than deciding whether somebody may buy or sell a vehicle.

  1. Children

80s90s.club is a vehicle marketplace intended for adults who are legally able to enter into vehicle transactions.

The marketplace is not designed as a service for children.

If we become aware that personal information has been submitted in circumstances where applicable law requires parental or guardian authorisation, we may remove the information or take other appropriate steps.

  1. Links to Other Websites

Listings or other parts of 80s90s.club may contain links to websites operated by other organisations.

Their privacy practices are controlled by them, not by 80s90s.club.

We recommend reviewing the privacy information of any third-party service before providing it with personal information.

  1. Changes to This Privacy Policy

80s90s.club will continue to develop, so this Privacy Policy may occasionally need to change.

The current version will always be available at:

80s90s.club/pages/privacy

The address will remain the same when this policy is updated.

The date at the top of this page shows when the Privacy Policy was last revised.

If we make an important change to how registered members' personal information is used, we may provide additional notice where appropriate or legally required.

  1. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we use personal information, please contact us first:

info@80s90s.club

Where GDPR or another applicable data-protection law gives you the right to do so, you may also submit a complaint to the relevant data-protection supervisory authority.

  1. Contact Us

Privacy Without the Legal Language

We need some information to make 80s90s.club work.

Your email lets you sign in.
We don't put it on your listing.

Your car's city helps buyers find it.
We show the general location, not your home address simply for the sake of showing where the car is.

Your phone number is your choice.
If you choose to display it, people who can see that contact information can use it to contact you. If you keep it private, we don't publish it simply because you gave it to us.

Your vehicle listing is public.
That's how buyers discover your car.

We don't sell your personal information.

And we never hold the money used to buy or sell a vehicle.
